Belairberry was built in the 1950’s starting in 1954 and finished some years latter. Some early pictures are above. It was an architectural form that was around then but not prevalent. Some photos of 4 houses below are all within a few hundred metres of each other at the bottom of Mt Ousley. For those interested, there are others in the area but these are the most intack examples, Dumphries Av, Strone St and Burling Av. Grigor (George) Boris, a Ukrainian Vet, arrived in Australia in 1948, passed his Vet exams to practice in Australia in 1952 and worked from Berry in 1953. The garden rooms at Belairberry are the treatment rooms and the space where George mixed medicines and the far shed were stables for sick livestock. George and his family were very much part of Berry life. There was a kidney shapped built across the back 2 blocks facing Princess which was dismantled for the subdivision.
